Friendship Week: Power for Good

This week we celebrated how small acts of kindness can have a big power for good. Our pupils showed wonderful friendship, positivity and support for one another — proving that kindness truly makes a difference.

We also had fun wearing odd socks to celebrate individuality and show that everyone is unique!

Calm spaces = happy learners!

Our P5s are enjoying flexible seating, cosy lighting, and even the freedom to kick off their shoes while they work. It’s amazing how comfort and choice can help boost focus and confidence in the classroom.

Positivity at Kirkistown!

Today we celebrated World Mental Health Day with lots of smiles, kindness and a splash of yellow!

Our pupils spent time talking about wellbeing and how our minds are like a garden — they need care, kindness and attention to help them grow.

Such a positive day all round!

What a wonderful morning at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Cloughey!

Our pupils were delighted to be invited to sing at the church’s 12-hour Praise-a-thon, raising funds to help connect their partner church in Ngwenya, Eswatini to electricity.

The children sang beautifully and did Kirkistown Primary proud!

A huge thank you to Mr Irwin, who was exceptional on the piano and in leading the children with such enthusiasm.

Well done, everyone — a fantastic effort for a wonderful cause!

Go Team Eswatini. We can’t wait to hear all about it.

I’m delighted to be starting my new role as Principal of Kirkistown Primary School on Wednesday.

It’s a real privilege to join such a wonderful school and community, and I’m looking forward to getting to know our pupils, families, staff and the wider community in the weeks ahead.

With the beach right on our doorstep, I’m excited about the opportunities for fun and learning that make Kirkistown such a special place. You will always receive a warm welcome at Kirkistown, and I look forward to getting to know many of you soon.
