sponsored beach clean- friday 25 march 2022
On Friday 25 March 2022, children participated in a sponsored beach clean at Cloughey Beach. The clean has helped tidy the beach ahead of the Easter & Summer period and will further instil in our children the importance of leaving no trace. We regularly use Cloughey Beach as part of our wider curriculum and wish to maximise its use all year round; it is therefore important that we, as part of the Cloughey community, help to maintain it.
Children in each of our four classes spent over thirty minutes in different areas of the beach. In some cases, the children were very surprised at the quantity and types of materials found.
Our commitment to helping looking after our environment further builds upon the work we do as a Forest School, Beach School and provider of the John Muir Award.
Thank you to all our families for their wonderful support of this sponsored activity; your children showed fantastic enthusiasm in helping to care for our local area.
