Shakespeare visit
Primary 6&7 pupils had a visit this week from Portaferry Library who delivered a fabulous Shakespeare session and exploration of Shakespeare's wonderful innovation of the English language. Thank you to the wonderful library staff who delivered the session.

celebrating world book day 2022
world book day 2021
While we can't be in school today to celebrate together, we're making time to share our love of our favourite books from our favourite lockdown locations.
world book day 2020
We were delighted to gather together today (Thursday 05 March 2020) to celebrate World Book Day with a whole-school assembly. Children shared the stories that had inspired their costumes with many children decorating potatoes in homage to a memorable character from a story they'd read. We finished our assembly by having a raffle with children having the opportunity to win a book! Every child has also been given a £1 World Book Day voucher. The timing of the assembly is very apt as we prepare to launch our Paired Reading Programme this month. As part of this programme P7 children will mentor a P5 child while P6 children will mentor a P4 child to help encourage, support and inspire them to get to grips with reading for meaning and reading for pleasure.
